Mercedes-AMG R50 Hypercar Rivals Aston Martin Red Bull’s AM-RB001.
At this point, we can only find out the very idea for the powertrain. The engine will be developed by Mercedes-AMG High-Performance Powertrain who built Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 car. According to the rumor, it will be a turbocharged four-cylinder 2.0-liter engine. And, that is generating around Unreal 1,000 hp of power output.
The power output also gets a boost from the three electric motors. The electric motors will be placed in the front wheels, two units of them, and in the transmission housing. It is expected that the engine can sprint this car to 60 mph in 2 seconds .
There is no information on its possible transmission option. But, it is rumored to be in rear-wheel drive configuration. It seems like the board of the company agrees more on developing fuel-cell powered or all-electric powertrain than hybrid units.
Pricing is unknown at this point. A prototype should come to make debut in Paris Motor Show. It is possible that it can be one-off concept even though Tobias Moers suggest production for 25 to 250 units.
